Houston, San Antonio mayors throw down over River Walk comments

San Antonio's mayor is not happy with Houston Mayor Annise Parker's "fightin' words" about his city's river walk.

The City of Houston received a national award for the Buffalo Bayou Restoration Project.  Here's what Parker had to say when asked why the bayou has not been turned into a "river walk" type development.

"The river walk is a cement ditch," she said.  "There is no nice way to say it.  Buffalo Bayou is a natural water course."

San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro said there's a little 'river walk envy" behind the comments.

"Mayor Parker is a good mayor and we have a great relationship but it was clear from her comments that Houstonians are a little jealous of the river walk."

He says he invites Parker to lunch on the river walk next time she's in town.
