A man who led Baytown officers on a vehicle chase was killed after he fired gunshots at officers on a highway.
Baytown police first arrived to an apartment complex around 10 a.m. Thursday in response to a reported disturbance between a man and a woman.
When the man drove away from the complex, another officer observed the car pass by him in traffic and pursued the vehicle.
Officers say the driver pointed a gun to his head before he crashed the car on Decker Drive. After the car crashed, the driver stepped out of the car and began to fire gunshots toward police.
At least three officers fired gunshots at the driver. He died and his body was lodged against the crashed car. Police found the gun that the driver fired near his body.
Police have not confirmed if the woman involved in the earlier domestic disturbance was hurt.
