Three days after Texas EquuSearch volunteers launched the search for a missing mother of two, Houston police say her ex-boyfriend confessed to killing her and hid her body near Midland.
Mark Castellano told authorities in the Midland-Odessa area where to find Michelle Warner's body. Authorities later recovered the body.
Texas EquuSearch volunteers and relatives began the search for Warner on Thursday morning at the Regency Square Apartment Homes. She was last seen at the complex on Friday, Sept. 21.
Relatives of Warner told FOX 26 News that her ex-boyfriend left Houston with their 3-year-old son and drove to Odessa in her car. They also told FOX 26 that they saw bleach stains on the carpet of the apartment unit where she lived.
"We are just glad we know where she is and we can bring her home and lay her to rest so she can be with her family where she belongs," said Ashleigh Peterson, Warner's cousin.
"I think justice and God will take of him (Castellano), " she added.
"It's really taking away a big part of us. It was devestating to hear what had actually happened.
I certainly did not see it coming," said Matthew Dabney, Warner's cousin.
