Gunman, bad parenting at NOX Nightclub, HPD says

Posted: Updated:

A couple is facing charges on accusations they left their alone in a car near a northwest Houston nightclub.

This all started around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at NOX Night Club in the 4700 block of Nett, Houston Police say.

An officer heard some patrons threatening to "shoot the club up" after they were denied entrance because of the dress code.  The group waited outside for another person to bring them the proper clothing so they could get inside.  When they were all properly dressed they went inside.

But officers told club managers to bring that group back outside to be searched.  Officers found a weapon on Calvin Wayne Masters, 30, and arrested him.  Masters is now charged with felony possession of a weapon.

While that was all going on, officers found two children sleeping alone in a car near the club.  They asked for the mom and stepfather of those children to step outside the club.  Child endangerment charges are now pending.

The couple was not connected to the group of upset patrons.
