Hundreds of diseases and disorders have been linked to the stretchy binder in grains, called gluten. Doctors are realizing more and more, when a patient has "odd symptoms" that just don't make sense, it often turns out to be an intolerance to grains.

The Gluten Free Society is featuring The Gluten Free Detox meeting at the Sugar Land Library on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The address is 550 Eldridge Road in Sugar Land. You can find out more about the health problem there, plus learn how to heal faster after years of damage from gluten. There is no fee for the event.

Dr. Peter Osborne from Town Center Wellness is well-known as the 'Gluten Warrior.' He will be offering tips about how to detoxify from gluten naturally.

If you take a gluten-free/grain-free treat to eat with the recipe, you can put your name into a drawing for more than $2,000 in prizes. For more information, visit http://www.glutenfreesociety.org/gluten-free-society-blog/gluten-free-society-hosts-the-gluten-free-detoxify/

Researchers believe all of these conditions may be tied to gluten intolerance: schizophrenia, autism, diabetes, cancer, lymphoma, obesity, fibrocystic breast disease, and thyroid disease. They also believe auto-immune diseases like Celiac, arthritis, fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and psoriasis, just to name a few, are also linked to gluten intolerance.
