Body found on the side of northwest Houston road

Police are waiting for the results of an autopsy to learn what caused the death of a man whose body was discovered on the side of a road.

Someone who was passing by Peppermill Road near Pitner Road observed the body around 11:45 p.m. Monday and contacted police.

Officers found the body with an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced the man dead.

The body was taken to the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences to be identified.
