HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Your prescriptions could cost less if you add one more card to your wallet.

The Coast2Coast Rx Discount Prescription program is promising to save you big bucks for people and pets.

"The discounts range from as low as 2 percent to 80 percent or 90 percent off.  Our average is 50 to 60 percent," Coast2Coast Rx's Zach Barret said.

You also get discounts on dentist visits, eye exams, hearing tests, lab work and imaging services.  You can even use the discount card for everyone in your household, including your furry and feathery family members.

"We love our dogs like part of the family, so they should be treated as such," Houstonian Savanna Kiser said.

Could you use half off of prescription drugs?  How helpful would that be?

"It'd be very helpful," Conroe resident Rebecca Bean said.  "Right now, we don't have insurance.  It's a 90-day window.  My husband started a new job.  Recently, (my baby boy) has caught a couple of viruses.  We've had to fill some prescriptions and it's been pretty expensive."

The card can also be used by people who are insured.

"Everyone qualifies.  There's no exception for health, age, income," Barrett said.

"It really just acts like a coupon you can use over and over again," Penny Wilson, with the Montgomery County Hospital District, said.

If you do have insurance, you can go into the pharmacy with your prescription, your insurance card and the discount card and compare to see which would cost you less money. Just ask the pharmacist a simple question:

Would you check to see which one's cheaper?

Montcomery County is the latest to sign on with the discount drug program but no matter where you live, you too can use the discount drug card.

"You don't have to be from Montgomery County to use the card and you're not restricted to Montgomery County pharmacies.  The card can be used in Harris, Walker County, Grimes, Dallas.  It can be used in Duluth, Minnesota," Barrett said.

Yes, the card can be used across the country.  It's accepted at most major chain stores.  Even if you choose not to use for yourself, you can still buy prescriptions for your pet.  The city of Houston already has the program.

If you want a card, simply go to the company's website and print one out.  It's free.
