Deputy constables are warning staff at northwest Harris County hospitals to watch for a wounded male who may have been involved in the shooting of a store clerk.
The shooting took place after 10 p.m. Sunday.
A male with a gun entered Mo's Food Mart on Kuykendahl Road near Ella Boulevard and demanded money from the clerk. The intruder and clerk struggled over the gun and the clerk was shot once.
The clerk was able to get a gun and fire gunshots toward the intruder, possibly striking the intruder twice. The intruder was able to run away from the store and into a wooded area.
Cypress Creek Emergency Medical Services took the clerk to Houston Northwest Medical Center in stable condition.
Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables conducted a search for the intruder and brought K-9 units to assist them.
Pct. 4 investigators say someone may have driven to pick up the intruder and help him escape.
Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact the Pct. 4 Constable's Office by phone at 281-376-3472.
