HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
A man who told police he was hoping to steal speakers from an abandoned car finds a body in the trunk instead.
Police arrived to find the car in a ditch near the intersection of Normandy Street and Nimitz Street in northeast Houston. Officers were responding to the scene of a vehicle crash.
Investigators are trying to determine when the man was killed, but FOX 26 News has learned he suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and had some pills in the pocket of his pants.
Police say the man who found the body was with his wife and child at the time and is not a suspect in the death.
