Prosecutors have filed charges against a man accused of trying to cut several people with a machete at a party in Galveston, Texas.
Javier Aragon, 26, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Around 1 a.m. Thursday, officers were sent to the 1100 block of 46th Street, Galveston Police say. A group of people were throwing a birthday party at the location.
They told officers Aragon got into an argument with another man and tried to cut people with a machete. Guests used chairs to block the machete strikes and managed to scare Aragon away.
Officers found Aragon at 19th Street and Avenue M. They took him back to the party where guests identified him as the attacker.
He is in custody on $80,000 bond for each count.
