
Two separate early morning vehicle accidents in southeast Houston ended with the deaths of two drivers.
Both accidents took place around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Houston police arrived in response to a reported accident on Clear Lake City Boulevard near Whitlock Drive and learned the driver was killed in the crash.
The 19-year-old man was driving a Dodge truck eastbound on Clear Lake City Boulevard at a speed of almost 90 mph when the truck struck a curb in the median. The truck then crashed into some trees.
Toxicology tests will be performed on the driver's body.
The passenger in the truck was injured with a broken leg and taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital - Texas Medical Center.
Houston police are also investigating a second fatal accident that took place on Monroe Road near Tavenor Lane.
The driver of a white Ford Mustang was traveling south on Monroe Road when the car struck a curb and caused the vehicle to roll over through a chain link fence.
When police arrived, they learned the driver was killed. They spoke with a witness and are trying to determine if the driver was intoxicated when the accident took place.
