Though the temperatures in Houston are still in the upper 80s and 90s, it is not too early to begin thinking of cooler weather, mugs of hot cocoa and curling up by the fireplace with a new furry friend in your lap!
The Houston SPCA wants to help you celebrate the first day of fall with $5 feline and rabbit adoptions (all felines must be five months of age and older and limit two per household) from Friday, Sept. 21 until Sunday, Sept. 23.
Each adoption package, valued at over $400 includes a health evaluation, initial vaccinations and rabies vaccinations for felines three months and older, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping with free lifetime registration for felines, a complimentary overall wellness examination for felines provided by a VCA Animal Hospital, and one bag of cat/kitten food courtesy of Hill's Science Diet.
iWalk for Animals takes place on Nov. 11, 2012 and the goal of the event is to raise $350,000 to help the orphaned, abused and neglected animals that come and go from the Houston SPCA on a daily basis. The funds raised will support several programs such as adoptions, cruelty investigations, 24-Hour Injured Animal Rescue Ambulance, provide spay /neuter surgery, disaster response, humane education, and more.
Registration for iWalk for Animals is free and anyone can register as individuals or with others as teams.
The iWalk for Animals is unique because anyone can walk anywhere in the world and help the animals of the Houston SPCA. Registrants who raise $100 can get a really cool one-of-a-kind iWalk t-shirt.
