HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Police have a suspect in the murder of a man found beaten and severely burned in northeast Houston.

Jaquan Ondray Bogany, 28, is charged with the murder of Joseph Eugene Brooks, 60.

Houston Police say they found Brooks with third-degree burns over more than half his body and broken facial bones in the 6200 block of North Wayside Drive on Sept. 6.

Brooks was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died.

Investigators named Bogany a suspect and arrested him on Sept. 15.  HPD says he confessed to Brooks' murder, saying he went to North Wayside Drive to assault Brooks and set him on fire.
