Vice president Joe Biden says Latinos are the most powerful force in American politics.
That was part of his speech at a gala for the congressional Hispanic caucus Thursday.
Friday, we spoke to an activist who says that while Latino influence in America is growing. There is still work to be done.
"Unfortunately, there is a center in our community where folks are just not registering to vote and they're not getting out to vote so we must be able to fix that," Cesar Espinoza said. "Just in Texas we have a million Latinos who are eligible to vote who are not even registered."
At 16 percent of the US population, with about 10.9 million registered voters, Latinos are expected to have a big impact in this year's election.
