Fort Bend County confirms 4th case of West Nile Virus

KATY, Texas -

Fort Bend County Health & Human Services has confirmed the 4th human case of West Nile Virus.

A female Katy resident between the ages of 55-74 has been released from the hospital and is at home recovering from the virus.

No deaths have been reported in Fort Bend County from West Nile Virus in 2012.

The three previous cases of West Nile Virus in Fort Bend County were of a girl no older than 14 years of age from Katy, a woman between the ages of 35 and 44 who lives in Sugar Land, and a man between the ages of 55 and 74 years old who lives in Sugar Land. That man was also released from the hospital and is also recovering from the virus at home, according to a statement released Tuesday by FBCHHS.
