Police believe there is a connection after two joggers were attacked in Galveston, Texas.
Around 5:50 a.m. Monday, a female jogger told police a tall, thin Hispanic man came up behind and tackled her to the ground near 47th and Seawall Boulevard, according to the City of Galveston.
She said she was able to fight him off. He fled in a white Mitsubishi Gallant with LED lights in the mirror.
Around 6:10 a.m., another female jogger told police a male Hispanic tackled her from behind at 51st and N ½.
She said she had a metal pipe with her and beat him with it.
Police believe the two incidents are connected but are not ruling anything out.
For now, police want joggers to be aware of their surroundings. That includes taking off those noise-canceling earphones and maybe taking a self-defense class.
