HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
Peaches, Chalanda and Kayla are all self-confessed prostitutes who work the Bissonnet area near US 59.
They said they can't get other jobs because of their background. That's why they've turned to a life on the streets of Houston.
Those who work and live in the Bissonnet area said they've had enough.
"They're walking down the streets with short shorts on and it's very disturbing," Kia Mack said. "We need more police."
While we were following the working girls, there was a police presence, but Houston Police officials said there is no solution to the problem.
Lt. Andy Lahaie, with HPD's vice squad, said they did a sweep of the area three times in July, but the problem continues.
"I don't have the answer," Lahaie said.
HPD encourages residents and business owners to continue to report the problem.
In the meantime, Peaches and the girls said they will continue to do what they know best until HPD comes up with a solution.
