
A 5-year-old boy is dead after an SUV rolled over on the Eastex Freeway in northeast Houston.
The accident happened around 3:16 p.m. Monday on the Eastex Freeway at Parker Road, according to Houston TranStar.
The victim and his family were from out of state.
Investigators believe the family's SUV blew out a tire and caused the driver to lose control, Houston Police say. The SUV struck retaining wall and rolled over.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four people were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Their conditions are not known.
Crews shut down four northbound lanes and a shoulder lane because of the accident. They have since been reopened.
