Congresswoman Lee pushing NAACP delegates to save Freedmen's Town

Posted: Updated:
HOUSTON (FOX 26) -

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee is taking advantage of the NAACP delegates in town to help to save Freedmen's Town.

As FOX 26 reported last week, the historic row houses in the Fourth Ward are in danger and efforts are needed to restore and preserve the area.

During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Freedmen's Town was the center of Black cultural and professional life in Houston.
