NBA sources told FOX 26 Sports New York Knicks restricted free agent guard Jeremy Lin will be in Houston on Wednesday to meet with the Houston Rockets.
Lin, who was with the Rockets briefly in training camp last year, became a national sensation with the Knicks.
The Rockets released Lin in December because the team had Kyle Lowry, Goran Dragic and Jonny Flynn under contract.
Lin flourished for a month with New York, creating 'Linsanity' from coast to coast.
He averaged 18.2 points and 7.7 assists during 25 games as a starter for the Knicks.
The Knicks announced on March 30 that Lin, who had injured his left knee, would need surgery and would miss the rest of the season.
Because Lin is a restricted free agent, the Knicks retain the right to match any offer he gets.
Meanwhile, NBA sources told FOX 26 the Rockets have withdrawn their qualifying offer to guard Courtney Lee, making him an unrestricted free agent.
It's expected that the Rockets made the move to preserve salary cap space for future deals.
