HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
A heavy truck accident and the resulting fuel spill shut down the northbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway, including the 610 Loop connector ramps to those lanes Friday afternoon.
Houston TranStar reported the accident happened around 3 p.m. on the Southwest Freeway near Newcastle.
The Texas Department of Transportation reported maintenance crews had to clean up that spill before the lanes could be reopened.
The freeway was finally reopened around 5:30 p.m.
