HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
A dad will not be charged after he killed a man accused of molesting his four-year-old daughter in Shiner, Texas.
A grand jury declined to indict the man, Lavaca County officials said on Tuesday.
On June 9, the victim and her family were having an afternoon barbecue off of County Road 302. The suspected molester, 47-year-old Jesus Flores, had been invited by the family to help handle their horses.
During the barbecue, the 23-year-old dad heard his daughter cry out for help. He told investigators he saw Flores molesting his daughter. He beat Flores severely and ended up killing him.
Sheriff Micah Harmon told FOX 26 News the dad said he was remorseful and it wasn't his intention to kill Flores; he was just defending his daughter.
