Wrestler brings Knockouts championship home to Houston

Posted: Updated:

After spending several years pursuing her dreams in professional wrestling, Houston resident Brooke Adams visited "FOX 26 Morning News Extra" as the reigning TNA Impact Wrestling Knockouts champion.

Adams, known best in TNA Impact Wrestling as Miss Tessmacher, defeated Gail Kim for the championship in a match that took place at the Slammiversary pay-per-view event on June 10 in Arlington, Texas.

"This was probably the biggest moment in my entire career; really, a remarkable moment," described Adams to FOX 26 News. "I'm a Texas girl at heart and I kind of represent the Texas flag when I walk out, so to win in Texas, I can't even explain it, the emotion and the feeling I was feeling."

Adams credited her wrestling training in the Houston area for her success in the ring. She also recognized her manager Paul Cook and TNA Impact Wrestling tag team partner Tara for their contributions to her career.

Since moving from St. Louis when she was an elementary school student, Adams has called Houston her home.

"I'm a Texas girl at heart, I don't plan on leaving," said Adams. She is also a busy fitness model and is featured on the cover of the June 2012 issue of Barstool Magazine. The cover photo, shot by Houston photographer John Tran, also features renowned ice sculptor Reverend Butter.

The TNA IMPACT WRESTLING World Tour arrives in Houston on Saturday, June 16 at the Bayou Music Center. Adams will be among the superstars appearing at the event along with a meet and greet opportunity at 5:30 p.m. for fans that purchase a $50 ticket.
