HOUSTON (FOX 26) -
A local mom was in court Monday on accusations she left her two children inside a hot car.
Mercedes Davenport, 30, was looking for apartments to rent in Spring, Texas on June 7, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
She took her daughters with her as she toured the apartment complex but left her 13-year-old and five-month-old sons in a still-running car. It was not clear if the air conditioner was running or not.
Someone saw the two children inside the still-running car and called the sheriff's office. Davenport was arrested at the complex and charged with child endangerment.
It was not clear if Child Protective Services took custody of the children.
