FOX 26 News found private security guards planted around St. Agnes Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday. Those guards say they have been told by Herring Bank not to allow anyone to remove any furniture or equipment from the premises.
Harris County records show Herring foreclosed on St. Agnes back in 2008, but there was a rental agreement between the church and the bank.
But now, members of the congregation say they were told the church, which began in 1967, is shutting down.
FOX 26 Reporter Isiah Carey tried to get answers from staffers at the church, but no one returned his call. Officials or executives at Herring Bank also did not return calls seeking comment.
