Two people were killed as the result of shootings in separate incidents at apartment complexes on the north side of Houston.
Police arrived around 10 p.m. Tuesday to the Windcrest at Sherwood Forest apartment complex on Sherwood Forest Street in northwest Houston and found a male with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken by private vehicle to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center where he later died.
The shooting took place in the courtyard of the apartment complex between two buildings. Police have not established a motive for the shooting and no suspects have been taken into custody.
Police later identified the shooting victim as Gerardo Lugo, 20. Homicide investigators say Lugo went to visit an acquaintance at the apartment complex when several unknown suspects approached him and fired gunshots at him before running away in an undetermined direction.

Officers found the body of a 21-year-old man on Greenchase Drive. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and a gun was found near the body.
Police found shell casings throughout the apartment complex.
Homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department are asking for any witnesses to come forward with information about the shooting.
Police have not released a description of a vehicle involved in the shooting and have not established a motive for the shooting.
