This week's Predator Check is in search of a convicted sex offender who, once again, is trying to hide in the community. There's a reward for his arrest if you know where to find him.
Take a look at 47-year-old Benton Moore. He's a slight man at 5-foot-10 and weighing 145-pounds. He has to wear hearing aids.
In 2001, he was convicted of 'indecency with a child by exposure.'
Moore's last known address was on Wellington Street just off Parker between the North Freeway and the Hardy Tollway. He listed this address as a registered sex offender, which he's supposed to do for ten years after his probation is complete.
His sentence for exposing himself to a 13 year-old boy was complete in February, but when police checked-up on him in May, he was gone.
"It's the simplest of things to go down to the police department once a year, just one time a year, to show up at the police department and tell us where you're residing," says Katherine Cabaniss from Houston Crime Stoppers. "In this case, he hasn't done that, and so he is wanted for that new crime -- failure to comply."
Authorities don't know if Benton Moore is still in the Houston area, but if you know where to find this man, Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to his arrest.
