This week's Predator Check is in search of a suspect accused of violating a youngster who was more than he bargained for. There's a reward for the man's arrest.
Get a good look at 51-year-old Robert Jones. He's a big guy at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds. Jones is charged with 'aggravated sexual assault of a child.'
Jones' last known address was on the 6000-block of Winton in southeast Houston near the South Freeway and Old Spanish Trail.
According to court documents, the alleged attack happened last October at another home where Jone was visiting a family for an after church meal.
It was there that a 13-year-old learning-disabled girl tells investigators that Jones took her into a bedroom, exposed himself, and sexually assaulted her.
"He probably thought that she wouldn't tell, however, this young woman was courageous," says Katherine Cabaniss with Houston Crime Stoppers. "She reported what happened to her. She was able to tell law enforcement what had happened, and they charged him with the aggravated sexual assault of a child."
If you know where to find Robert Jones, Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to his arrest. You can call anonymously at 713-222-TIPS.
