Acid Used to Damage Dickinson Church

DICKINSON, Texas (AP) — A small Houston-area church has been damaged by acid that was dumped on every pew.

Dickinson police are seeking the person responsible for leaving Christian Fellowship Ministry Church in shambles.

The Rev. Noble Cooper Jr. on Thursday told the Galveston County Daily News that the locks had been removed from the doors and acid was poured on the carpet, the pulpit and on each bench. Cooper says several musical instruments were stolen, along with other equipment.

Police believe the vandalism happened early Sunday at the church, which has about 25 members.

Sgt. Frank Price estimates damage is at least $30,000.

Dickinson is 25 miles southeast of Houston.
