NEWS Associate Producer Part Time Regular Responsible for writing news stories and teases, editing video and creating graphics and supers for newscasts, myfoxhouston.com and associated news partners. The position works closely with producers to help develop and format newscasts and communicates continuously with Reporters, Photographers, Assignment Desk, Managers and other applicable employees or outside sources regarding story developments and changes. Must possess the ability to write stories for on-air newscasts, myfoxhouston.com and create written and visual content for social media platforms in coordination with producers and managers. Facilitate communication during newscasts regarding live shots and story development. Associate Producers must have the ability to overcome anticipated and unexpected changes when putting together newscasts. Perform other duties as assigned. Four (4) year degree in Journalism or related field required. One (1) – Two (2) years’ experience as an associate producer in a small to medium market. Candidate must have strong news judgment, good writing skills, knowledge of current events and excellent communication and people skills. Knowledge of social media platforms, TV production techniques and newsroom computer systems required. Producer Full Time Regular Responsible for writing news stories and teases, ordering graphics and assembling newscasts. Write stories for myfoxhouston.com. Coordinate live coverage of news events and participate in the selection and development of stories. Create content for social media platforms. Perform other duties as assigned. Four (4) year college degree required. Three (3) – Four (4) years’ experience as a line producer in a medium to major market. Candidate must have strong news judgment, good writing skills, knowledge of current events and excellent communication and people skills. Video Editor Full Time Regular Non-Linear Video Editor will edit all video content as needed for all News department media platforms including television, web and social media. Will also be responsible for managing and editing satellite and microwave content feeds as needed for all platforms. Will also edit on location as needed. Four  year college degree is preferred. minimum of two  years’ experience as a non-linear video editor in a medium to major television market. Must be a self-starter, work well under pressure, and be capable of editing video quickly, accurately, and creatively. Must possess good news judgment and be familiar with the technical operations of a fast paced newsroom. Perform other duties as assigned. Senior Web Producer Full Time Regular The incumbent will coordinate and supervise online and mobile editorial staff as well as be responsible for the supervision of all production and quality aspects of the stations’ websites. Perform duties of online & mobile writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering. Facilitate the editorial gathering of local web and mobile news and reproducing material intro strong compelling web and mobile material. Ensure the stations’ websites are coded to standards consistent with company and web style guidelines. Knowledge of HTML, Basic AVID editing, iNews and social media including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Perform other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned. Four (4) year college degree required. Two (2) – Three (3) years’ of web and production management experience. Expert knowledge of, traffic reporting and ad serving systems. Must have a solid understanding of web and mobile standards, design and usability. Knowledge of common web and application architectures. Knowledge and use of A/V digitizing and editing. Must have advance knowledge of internet publishing software and content management systems. Must have excellent print/web writing, editing, interface design and web production skills. Handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline oriented environment. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and as part of a cohesive team. Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends when required.
CREATIVE SERVICES Promotions Manager Full Time Regular Assists the Vice President of Creative Services in the creation and development of all marketing strategies for KTXH-My20. Must have strong organizational and communication skills. Must be a skilled troubleshooter and creative problem solver in the day-to-day operations of the department. Hands on writing, producing and editing of promotional messages (image/series/topical) a must, as well as a strong understanding of topical news promotion. Must meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. Work closely with media buyers on outside media placement and strategies. Produces and oversees all radio promotion and trafficking, as well as cable production/trafficking and other outside media. Instrumental in all aspects of branding creation and execution. This position will also play a huge role in the duopoly's digital media efforts (e.g. Facebook, Web, APPS) as well as the creation and execution of daily social media content. Other duties as deem appropriate and assigned. The ideal candidate must have promotion experience in a medium to major market. Must be able to produce corporate presentations. Must be a liaison between station and syndicates, network and outside media representatives in regards to co-op, scheduling, spending and on-air product. Experience in AVID editing is required. Two (2) to four (4) years is required.
FINANCE Credit & Collections Manager Full Time Regular The Credit & Collections Manager has responsibility for the following: maintaining account receivables; application of cash payments; collection of outstanding balances, granting credit and setting credit limits. Invoice maintenance and distribution, account reconciliation between the station’s billing and financial systems. The Credit & Collections Manager must enforce policy and procedures as they pertain to credit & collections as well as post/reconcile Account Receivable logs with the Traffic and Sales departments. This position will also be responsible for various station financial reports. Other duties as deem appropriate and assigned. Requirements, Skills & Abilities: Four year college degree with a major or concentration in Accounting or related discipline is preferred. Broadcast Finance experience is preferred. A minimum of three  or more years in corporate credit and collections is required. Must possess good working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, have good math skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office with a heavy emphasis in Excel. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to interact with all levels of station personnel. Financial Analyst Full Time Regular The Financial Analyst has significant responsibility for providing complete, accurate, and timely accounting reports to management. Must accurately interpret raw and summarized data from the Traffic and General Ledger systems. Prepare all journal entries and analyses related to the accounting cycle closes, including standard, recurring, and adjusting journal entries and posting depreciation. Responsible for capitalizing fixed assets and maintaining the master asset list along with the related records. The Financial Analyst will assist in regular auditing and testing. Assists in the annual SOX 404 testing and annual budget preparation. This candidate must have flexibility with work schedule. Requirements, Skills & Abilities: Four year college degree with a major or concentration in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline is required. Broadcast Finance experience is preferred. A CPA or MBA is required. A minimum of four  or more years of general accounting experience is required. Must possess good working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, have good math skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office with a heavy emphasis in Excel.
HUMAN RESOURCES Human Resources Manager Full Time Regular Responsibilities include performing all generalist duties for the Fox O&O duopoly, including but not limited to direct and manage the Stations’ employee relations and employment programs and initiatives, recruiting/applicant tracking, performance management and performance evaluation administration, FMLA, worker’s compensation, policy administration, and affirmative action compliance and monitoring. Candidate will work in concert with Station management and Corporate Human Resources to ensure that all employment regulatory requirements are met and that all Company policies are adhered to. Position requires at least five (5) years HR Management experience, Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Organizational Development or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Required skill set includes effective written/verbal communications, creative problem solving and conflict management, and strong computer skills. Must also have strong leadership skills. SALES Executive Assistant Full Time Regular Assist the Vice President/General Sales Manager, Sales Managers and Account Executives to achieve departmental goals and budgets. These tasks include but not limited to: order entry, contract maintenance, contract reconciliation and the posting of contracts. Additionally, the Executive Assistant will be responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the political files and Wide Orbit. The Executive Assistant will be in constant communication with Account Executives, Sales Managers, the Traffic Department and Advertisers. Other duties as appropriate and assigned. College degree with emphasis in Advertising, Marketing or Business required. Broadcast Sales Assistant experience preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills required including Excel. Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Strong mathematical skills required. The candidate must have good communication skills and be able to interface with the Sales team. Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize, multi-task and perform at a high level in a fast paced environment. Must be computer proficient and will be required to learn industry specific software and create sales presentations.

NEWS DEPARTMENT: All News student interns will gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced news environment. Overall, an internship with the News Department will involve assisting the news staff with compiling information, answering phones and other duties that will be useful in the news gathering process. This internship may include some field experience with News Reporters to cover developing stories. Student interns are expected to assist producers with researching. Also, student interns will assist Assignment Desk Editors and News Producers with phone calls to assist in the development of stories, as well as filing press releases, sorting scripts and writing practice scripts as needed. This internship requires learning the news computer system.
SPORTS DEPARTMENT: Student interns will gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of the Sports Department. Interns will help produce and edit sports stories for daily sportscasts. Student interns will assist in all facets of production. Duties include but are not limited to: checking wire reports, logging feeds and games, preparing initial scripts, working with editors to produce highlights, and retrieving and archiving videotapes. This internship may include some field experience to cover sports events with a crew. Student interns must be self-starters, organized, and able to work evening and weekends hours.
CREATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT/PROGRAMMING: Student interns will assist in the production of news and program promotion, as well as creation of broadcast graphics. Creative writing and journalism background preferred. Student interns must be enrolled in a Broadcast Journalism, Television/Radio, or comparable curriculum. Student interns will also be exposed to program scheduling, TV ratings research, operational procedures and more. Interns will also learn about FCC compliance, sales support and news research. The Department is responsible for maintaining the stations' public files, cable relations and communicating with the public.
SALES/RESEARCH: The Sales Department is responsible for generating revenue via negotiations with commercial advertisers. Student interns will provide administrative support to account executives and sales coordinators. Internship activities may include contract entry, typing correspondence, faxing, filling contracts, copying, etc. There will also be telephone interaction with clients and advertising agencies and the opportunity to attend in person meetings with clients and advertising agencies. There may be opportunities for the student interns to spend time in the Traffic and Research departments as well. Student interns must have a desire to work in Sales and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. The Research Department supports various departments primarily through sales research and procedures. ------------------------------------------------------------
