The tree population on Galveston Island took a big hit from
Hurricane Ike. The winds destroyed many, but the storm surge also
brought in too much saltwater, killing many trees long after the
storms landfall. The damage was so great that the Texas Forest
Service has become involved.

When hurricanes and tropical storms make landfall, they can
cause many changes to everyone in the area. That can take place
before, during, and most of all, after the storm strikes. Those
impacts can be felt at home and in the workplace.

Dr. Robert Emery, associate professor of occupational health at
the University Of Texas School Of Public Health explains business
continuity during hurricane season.
