Mick Jagger rumored for fourth `Pirates'

(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - Johnny Depp and Rolling Stone Keith Richards are set to co-star in the fourth "Priates of the Caribbean" movie – and word is, Depp is trying to woo Richards' bandmate, Mick Jagger, for a role, according to UK tabloid The Daily Express .

Richards, who appeared in the third "Pirates" flick, "At World's End," will reprise his role as the father of Johnny Depp's character. Depp is reportedly very involved in the fourth installment of the franchise and would like Jagger to play an elder pirate, similar to Richards' role, according to Movieline .

The Jagger rumor has been floating around the Internet for a while and no one will officially confirm whether the Rolling Stones frontman is interested .

"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" is set to begin filming this summer, perhaps as soon as June . The planned release date is May 2011.

Depp, 46, has drawn flack from fans for continuing the franchise, but the Oscar-nominated actor has said he is happy with the role of Capt. Jack Sparrow.

Orlando Bloom won't be in "On Stranger Tides." A press release from Disney stated English actor Sam Claflin will join the cast . Penelope Cruz will also co-star as Blackbeard's daughter.

Keira Knightley has already said she would not appear in "Pirates 4."
