Stolen Dodge Intrepid Involved in Chase

HOUSTON - A suspect led officers and deputies on a car chase in northwest Harris County, but the search continues for him after crashing the stolen Dodge Intrepid.

At approximately 3 a.m. Thursday, police saw the Intrepid and tried to stop the driver on Greens Road near the North Freeway after learning that the car was reported stolen. Investigators say the driver drove away and led both Houston police and Harris County Sheriff's deputies on a car chase.

The chase moved from Greens Road to Gears Road until reaching Walters Road where the driver lost control of the Intrepid and crashed into a brick wall near a large garbage bin.

Investigators say the driver jumped out of the Intrepid and ran away on foot.

The Houston police helicopter and K-9 officers helped in the search for the suspect, but the search was later suspended.
