HOUSTON - Firefighters put out a fire at an east Houston industrial facility where plastic pellets are manufactured.

Firefighters arrived at the American Thermoplastics Company at approximately 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and found flames coming from silos at the facility. After making what they called a "fast attack," firefighters were able to get the fire under control.

Byproducts of the plastic pellet manufacturing processing caught fire near the ground and spread to an exterior wall almost three stories high inside the building, but sprinklers inside the building prevented the fire from spreading.

No one was injured and since firefighters say no chemicals were released, there was no environmental hazard to surrounding communities.
