HOUSTON - A determined bulldog burglar strikes in north Harris County.
But, the suspect had no idea that at least 5 surveillance cameras were rolling.
In crystal clear video, the suspect can be seen pulling up at 6 a.m.
He tries twice to use rope and his SUV to pull off the burglar bars of Pet City's front door.
When that doesn't work he puts his weight behind a crowbar to pop the lock.
Over the course of an hour, the suspect leaves and comes back several times.
"He knew where he was going. He knew exactly what he was going to do," says owner Sheri Stack.
Once he forces his way in, he's in and out in just over a minute. The man leaves with his arms full of pricey pooches.
He takes 3 English Bulldog puppies that are just 12 weeks old and worth $5,000 each.
Stack describes the dogs as part of the family and worries about what's happening to them right now.
"What's really sad is this guy that took them doesn't even know if they were on medication, if they've had vaccines, which they have."
It was a very close call for employee Nikia Hall.
"I used to come here earlier than that so I'm really lucky I didn't come this morning that early because I probably would have met him at the door and there's no telling what he would have done to me."
She was first one through the door this morning.
Her favorite, the biggest of the English Bulldogs is one that was taken.
"I was mad because that's the most popular English Bulldog. We named him King because he's the most popular and we want him back."
The suspect finally left at 7:01 a.m.
Because of all the cameras, constables with Pct. 4 are working some solid leads.
One of the cameras is positioned to specifically catch the license plates of those who come and go in the parking lot.
Beyonce, George Foreman and Kelly Rowland have all been customers at this 21-year-old family owned business.
This isn't the first time the store has been hit.
In January, a man was arrested after he broke in and stole some turtles.
Stack says the neighborhood has changed over the last 10 years.
" We're getting a lot more crime."
All of that is enough to make Stack angry. She got downright furious when she watched the end of the video.
The suspect can be seen tossing the puppies out the door onto the sidewalk.
"What a heartless, heartless person. How could he go through all this effort to steal them to throw them out the door.
