HOUSTON - A group of girl scouts from the United Kingdom have taken an unexpected tour of the Houston area after being grounded by the Icelandic volcanic cloud.
Thursday the young women made it all the way down to moody gardens in Galveston and were introduced to flock of penguins.
The girls became stranded on a Houston stopover after a visit to Costa Rica.
One girl said the unexpected adventure will never be forgotten.
"Everyone's been so lovely. They've had southern hospitality for us. That's just mind blowing," she said.
The girls expect to finally fly back to the United Kingdom by Sunday.
