HOUSTON - Houston Mayor Annise Parker has announced the five people that she recommends as her new city appointees to replace the METRO Board of Directors.
The five people selected by Parker to administrate the troubled METRO Transit Authority include Gilbert Andrew Garcia, Dwight Jefferson, Carrin Patman, Allen Dale Watson and Christof Spieler.
Garcia is listed as a managing partner for Davis Hamilton Jackson & Associates, L.P. on the investment company's website.
On the website for his law firm, Dwight E. Jefferson is listed as an attorney at law that focuses in arbitration, mediation and litigation. The Jefferson Law Firm website also mentions that he is former state district judge.
Patman is listed as a partner for the law firm of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP on the firm's website.
Watson is listed as the president of the civil engineering firm Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. on the firm's website.
The announcement follows a vote by the outgoing METRO board to pay legal fees for CEO Frank Wilson as he fights allegations in court that amount up to $100,000.
The METRO board also voted to hire UHY Advisors, a global business advisory and consulting company, to review their work in the allegations that Frank Wilson did not turn in his complete expense report.
