Charge Filed in Man's Shooting Death

HOUSTON - A murder charge was filed against a man accused of tying up a victim and shooting him to death inside a northwest Houston apartment unit.

Wilmer Ruiz Amador, 26, was arrested Saturday by Houston police and Montgomery County deputies in the 17300 block of Cozumel in Conroe, according to a Houston Police Department statement.

Amador is accused of tying up 41-year-old Eddie Floyd Gordon around 1 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex on West Sunforest Drive near West Tidwell Road, according to the statement.

Amador allegedly tied Gordon's hands behind his back before shooting him several times in the torso, according to the statement. Gordon died at the scene.

His first court appearance is scheduled for May 11.
