Suspicious Fire Causes Hospital Evacuation

HOUSTON - Arson investigators are questioning a person of interest after a suspicious fire forces a late-night evacuation of St. Joseph Medical Center.

Firefighters arrived at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday to the downtown Houston hospital after learning of a fire in the emergency room. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the first floor.

People who were on the first floor were evacuated one level up to the second floor.

Investigators later found a stack of sheets that had been set on fire.
