Crime Stoppers of Houston and South Houston Police Department investigators are asking for help from the public to find a man accused in the October 28 stabbing death of Carlos Duron.
Victor Ayala, 24, has been charged with murder and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Ayala is citizen of Honduras and may be trying to escape to his native country.
Police say that Ayala and Duron argued in the stairwell of an apartment complex at the 1000 block of South Allen Genoa Road at approximately 7 p.m. on Oct. 28.
During the argument, police say Ayala showed Duron he had a knife and stabbed the man in the back as he tried to run away.
Ayala allegedly ran away from the complex. Duron was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. It was Duron's 29th birthday.
Investigators believe that Ayala is still in the Houston area or could be trying to travel to Honduras.
Ayala is described as standing at a height of 6 feet tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, a light complexion and a medium build.
Crime Stoppers is willing to pay up to $5,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of Victor Ayala. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 713-222-8477 or online at http://www.crime-stoppers.org/. Anyone who contacts Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous.
