Texas City officials say a chemical leak at a BP facility there is not hazardous to the public.
The leak happened around 2:30 p.m. A spokesman for Texas City Emergency Management identified the spilled chemical as naphtha, used to make mothballs.
Winds carried fumes from the spill to a neighboring Dow facility, causing a lockdown there.
The city says the fumes will not impact the city, and the leak was stopped soon after it happened.
