HOUSTON - Hundreds attended the funeral for high-profile attorney John O'Quinn Wednesday at Second Baptist Church.
O'Quinn was eulogized as a generous man who never failed to help his friends. He and his employee, Johnny Lee Cutliff, were killed on Oct. 29 when the sport utility vehicle that O'Quinn was driving had crashed into a tree.
O'Quinn's success in the courtroom made him a multi-millionaire. But he gave millions of dollars to charities and institutions.
Don Clark, a former FBI agent who works as an investigator in the O'Quinn law firm, said the attorney cared about people.
"A man with his wealth and so forth, he loved the common man and he wanted to help people and to me that means everything," Clark said.
Jim Pearson, an attorney who worked closely with O'Quinn, told FOX 26 News, "He always did everything right with me. He always kept his word. We always had a handshake. He never let me down. He never let one of my clients down. He always came through for us and it is a tragedy that we on the plaintiff's bar no longer have him to rely on."
