Accused Teacher Surrenders to Police

CLEVELAND, Texas - A woman who is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a middle school student is in police custody, more than one week after she resigned from the Cleveland Independent School District.

Kimberly Sinclair surrendered to Cleveland police on Wednesday even though investigators say she originally agreed to appear at the police station on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

An arrest warrant was issued for Sinclair on Monday.

Sinclair was a sixth grade teacher at Cleveland Middle school since January 2009.

Officers say Sinclair admitted to having a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old boy.
