Criminal charges have been dismissed against a former Splendora police officer who was accused of sending sexual and inappropriate text-messages to a 13-year-old girl.
Former Splendora Police Department Officer Jeremy Hunt was arrested in May on a charge of criminal solicitation of a minor.
He was accused of attempting to induce his former neighbor’s underage daughter to send nude images of herself by cell phone. The girl's mother also says Hunt sent her daughter about 1,000 text messages in one month's time, and some of those messages were suggestive.
But prosecutors say there simply wasn't enough evidence to prevail in court.
So in exchange for dropping the charges, officials say Hunt agreed to surrender his police license permanently.
