At least one suspect may face a federal charge of hostage taking after FBI agents find a father and son who were allegedly kidnapped and one of their accused abductors in a Fresno field.
The suspect, who has been placed in FBI administrative custody, was found with the two men at approximately 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at the 700 block of Myrtle Avenue in Fresno. The two alleged kidnapping victims were found with their hands bound.
A spokeswoman for the FBI in Houston says the father and son are U.S. citizens while the suspect who was captured is not a U.S. citizen. The FBI believes that there was at least one other suspect involved in the two abductions.
Several law enforcement agencies assisted in the FBI search and helped agents set up a perimeter and checkpoints in the Fresno area, but the both the perimeter and checkpoints had been deactivated before 9 a.m. Tuesday. Fresno police and Brazoria County Sheriff's deputies took part in the search while Houston police and Fort Bend County Sheriff's deputies continue to assist the FBI in the investigation.
