Fort Bend County detectives need help identifying an armed robber who forced an employee to lock the door of a Stafford-area cash advance shop while he placed money in a bag.

The man entered the store in the 500 block of FM 1092 around 2 p.m. Tuesday armed with an unknown type of handgun, according to a Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office statement. The suspect demanded the employee lock the front door of the store and then open the safe, and put its contents inside a bag.

The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the statement.

The suspect is described as a heavy set black male with a mustache, according to the statement. He appeared to be between the ages of 22 and 28, 6 feet 3 inches tall.

He was wearing black sun glasses, a white baseball shirt with black mid-length sleeves, and black pants, according to the statement.

Anyone with information about this robbery is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 281-342-8477.
