HOUSTON - He may be retired from playing with the Houston Astros, but he's still hitting home runs in the community.
All-Star Craig Biggio was back on the field at Minute Maid Park on Monday. He was there hosting a big bash for a group of area children.
Biggio and his wife have been supporting the Sunshine Kids for 17 years now and Monday was no different. Kids from the organization went up to bat, ran the bases at Minute Maid and had an all around ball at the big event.
The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization that supports children who are battling cancer. The kids and their parents not only had a grand time on the field at Minute Maid Park, they also got a chance to meet the superstar himself.
Biggio tossed balls with the kids and seemed to be having just as much fun as they were. The event may only last a few hours but the kids take the memories with them forever.
