A local lawman is indicted on a charge of Criminal Solicitation of a Minor.

At the time of the allegations, in May 2008, Jeremy Hunt was a police officer with the Splendora Police Department.

He is accused of attempting to induce an underage girl to send nude images of herself by cell phone.

According to the indictment, the charge is a state jail felony which is punishable by up to two years behind bars.

Hunt's accuser is a 13-year-old girl whose family used to be close friends, and neighbors.

The girl's mother says, Hunt sent her daughter about 1,000 text messages in one month's time, and some of those messages were suggestive.

"It's been a real roller-coaster for my family," says the mother, whom FOX 26 will not identify because of the sexual nature of the allegations. "We've had to move, completely start our lives over. Harassment, vandalism. My daughter is tormented at school."

Jeremy Hunt, 36, is slated to appear in court to answer the charges, Friday morning.

FOX 26 attempted to contact his attorney on Thursday evening without success.
