Video: HFD Rookie Twirled in Chair

Some call it having good old fashioned fun. Others say it's part of the problem that's plaguing the Houston fire department.

FOX 26 News has obtained this video of several Houston firefighters strapping a rookie to a chair. That chair also has two oxygen tanks on it. The veteran firefighters set the tanks off and the cadet is left spinning out of control until he's thrown.

President of the Black Firefighters Otis Jordan says this is a sign of how things are out of control at the department. He says this type of immaturity eventually leads to hate and sexism in the department if it goes unchecked.

We put in a call to Houston Executive Assistant Chief Rick Flanagan. He says he never heard of the video or the rocket chair. He did not address Jordan's allegations.
