HOUSTON - FOX 26 News has learned that there are more allegations of racism in the Houston Fire Department.

In this incident, two female firefighters showed up to work at Fire Station 54 on Tuesday morning only to find graffiti in the facility.

Sources tell FOX 26 that on the walls of the women's dormitory and on a bed were scrawled such phrases as "Ni---r Lover," "Die B---h," and "Die N----r."

One firefighter said, "I have never seen anything like this before."

The racially destructive words were also written on the portrait of a little girl. That girl died and is the daughter of one of the female firefighters who found the racist graffiti early Tuesday morning. The suspect or suspects wrote on that deceased girl's picture the words "Die B---h Die."

Sources also tell FOX 26 that the female firefighters are distraught and blocking the room so that no one came come in and erase the graffiti.

FOX 26 has also learned that Houston executive assistant chief Rick Flanagan has already started looking into the matter. Flanagan confirmed in a telephone call early on Tuesday morning that he wanted to get to the bottom of the alleged racism.

So what is the motive? President of the Houston Black Firefighters Association Otis Jordan says he has the answer.

"They don't want them there. They don't want them to work there and they filed that complaint."

The women have alleged that they were being harassed at HFD Station 54. They claim that male firefighters have urinated in sinks and their sleep areas, disconnected cold water to the female showers and unplugged speakers to the women's dormitory so that the women could not hear dispatch calls.

"We're talking about adults here," said Jordan. "They sound like children. Might be too much spare time and no leadership at that fire station."
